How To

Requesting SSL activation

  1. Email a request to open SSL to info@readyplanet.com.
  2. State that SSL should be opened for the website and include the website name.
  3. The agent sends the SSL Certificate activation conditions by email.
  4. Reply to that email with confirmation to open SSL.
  5. After receiving the confirmation, the agent activates the SSL Certificate in the backend system.

Opening SSL does not incur a charge. The update takes approximately 24 to 48 hours to complete. The staff responsible for email requests process activation for the specified website.

Checking a website URL for SSL

  1. Copy the website URL from the website's back-office page.
  2. Open a new browser tab.
  3. Paste the copied URL into the new tab's address bar.
  4. Check whether the URL begins with http or https.
  5. Press Enter to try opening the URL.
  6. If the page that cannot be used displays an unsafe warning, copy that page's URL.
  7. Paste the copied page URL into the browser again.
  8. Check whether the page URL begins with https.

Enabling SSL for a website reported as not secure

  • Enabling an SSL Certificate is recommended when a website is reported as not secure.

  • Requests cannot be submitted by telephone.
