Overview
What Pointspot is
- Pointspot is a loyalty program and points-accumulation system provided by Readyplanet for businesses that want to retain regular customers.
- It is offered as a separate package and as a ready-made standard platform that businesses can use without custom development.
- The system includes an end-to-end loyalty program and a back-office system for businesses to manage their own loyalty programs.
- The starting service includes all system functions.
- The basic annual package supports an unlimited number of members.
Accessing Pointspot and managing members
- Pointspot is an online system accessed through a web browser on a mobile phone or computer, rather than through a dedicated mobile application.
- Pointspot uses customers’ telephone numbers for membership and point accumulation.
- The system can store member information such as names, telephone numbers, birth months, birth years, genders, and study years.
- Standard registration fields include name, telephone number, birth month, birth year, and gender. Businesses can add custom fields or additional questions to the registration form.
- Pointspot initially synchronizes LINE data with the telephone number used when the customer first registered.
- Businesses can change a registered telephone number themselves or have Readyplanet change it; both methods produce the same result. Changing the number can involve transferring points.
Accumulating and using points
- Pointspot converts entered sales or monetary amounts into points. A business can configure the conversion rate; one reported example was 100 baht for one point.
- Businesses can operate Pointspot manually instead of integrating it with a POS system.
- Businesses can send points to members, and sending points to one customer counts as one transaction.
- Pointspot supports withdrawing points and exchanging points for reward coupons.
- Customers can view their point information through LINE or through a customer-facing web link.
- Pointspot can notify customers about points through LINE, SMS, or telephone-number-based notifications. When points are sent through a LINE Official Account connection, the notification appears in the customer’s LINE account; the notification is sent immediately after the points are sent.
- Pointspot records transaction histories and statistics for point-sending activity.
- Businesses can configure point conversion rates, membership cards, and coupons.
Connecting Pointspot to external systems
- Pointspot provides an API for connecting to external business systems when those systems permit external connections.
- The API can connect Pointspot to a business’s POS system. Pointspot provides the connection interface, but does not provide the POS connection service itself.
- When an external system is connected, Pointspot can retrieve a customer’s telephone number and spending amount and automatically calculate the customer’s points.
- Pointspot can connect to a LINE Official Account, also referred to as LINE OA. Customers can register as members, check their points, and redeem rewards through LINE.
- A Pointspot link can be placed in a LINE Official Account menu so customers can open their coupons or rewards.
- An API connection for messaging applications other than LINE, such as WhatsApp, is under development, and its release phase has not been finalized.
Sending coupons and gift vouchers
- Pointspot can send vouchers, coupons, and promotional messages to members.
- Businesses can create gift vouchers for products or services and specify the vouchers’ usage conditions.
- A gift voucher includes a QR code and a voucher code. After registration, it appears in the customer’s coupon area.
- Pointspot can notify customers about sent gift vouchers through LINE or SMS.
- Customers can exchange points for reward coupons, and businesses can distribute coupons for free or send them to customer groups.
- Coupon distribution can use birthdays, purchase history, point totals, and membership cards as criteria.
- Pointspot supports six types of coupons.
- The Loyalty Program can issue various coupons that hotels can use as customer incentives.
- Pointspot is planning coupon-set functionality, but its release phase has not been finalized.
Membership cards and rewards
- Pointspot includes an automatic membership card system that issues configured membership cards when the required conditions are met.
- After the end user receives the required points, Pointspot issues the configured membership card automatically.
- Pointspot can be adapted to issue ten e-vouchers worth 100 baht each as an alternative to adding 1,000 baht to a wallet.
Customer groups and loyalty communications
- Pointspot can segment customers into groups such as regular customers, customers who have not returned for a long time, and customers who purchased once and never returned.
- Businesses can identify target customer groups and communicate with customers more precisely according to those groups.
- Pointspot stores transaction histories and can analyze customer behavior, including identifying regular customers and customers who purchase only once.
- The Loyalty Program can help hotels increase the number of customers who book directly with them.
Reports and transaction tracking
- Pointspot reports can be exported as Excel files.
- Users can filter transaction history by a selected month or preset periods such as today, yesterday, or this week.
- Filtered transaction results appear as a one-line summary showing the number of point-sending transactions and the total number of points.
- The coupon-sending report can show which coupons were sent and how many were sent during the selected period. It can include the coupon name, coupon code, customer ID, member name, and sender.
Plans, campaigns, and transaction allowances
- Annual-plan customers can create campaigns that multiply awarded points during specified periods or for specified usage modes. Multipliers can be configured, including two times or three times.
- The annual plan allows coupons to be organized into categories for different branches. For businesses with multiple branches, customers can select a branch category to view that branch’s coupons.
- Pointspot usage transactions include sending points, withdrawing points, sending vouchers or coupons, and setting point-expiration notifications.
- The number of transactions can vary from month to month depending on the business’s campaigns and usage.
- The transaction allowance resets to 5,000 transactions on the first day of the month.
Interface and business configuration
- Businesses can configure their business name, images, logos, and banners in Pointspot.
- The latest dashboard update primarily changes the user interface rather than the underlying functions.
- Functions are grouped into categories, and reports previously listed in the left-side menu are consolidated into a new reports interface.
- Pointspot offers online meetings for demonstrating the system to a business.

- Pay for the Pointspot credit top-up and report the payment.
- After the payment is reported, the system adds the credits to Pointspot.

- Add the support team's LINE account.
- Send the requested details through that LINE account.
- Use the quotation for the package upgrade to contact the accounting department and proceed.
Additional Pointspot credits can be purchased instead of upgrading the package.

@Readyplanet.

Rules & Requirements
Connecting Pointspot to a POS system
- Businesses using Ocha POS must operate Pointspot alongside Ocha POS because Ocha POS cannot connect to external platforms.
- Before connecting a POS system, check whether the POS is open to connections with external systems.
- API connection is not automatic, and Pointspot does not charge a service fee for the API connection.
- Whether a POS system can be customized for integration depends on the POS provider.
- If the POS device can open a web browser, Pointspot can be accessed through that browser. If it cannot open Pointspot conveniently, use a smartphone or tablet to submit points.
- A business can submit points manually by logging in to Pointspot and entering the customer's phone number and sales amount.
Configuring membership cards
- The automatic membership card system issues a card only after the end user receives the number of points specified in its settings.
- Pointspot's automatic membership card settings can include a condition based on points earned from deliveries only.
- For example, the system can issue a Gold Card when a customer accumulates 500 points.
- If automatic membership card issuance is not configured, receiving points does not issue a card automatically. A customer signing up alone also does not issue a card when the configured issuance condition has not been met.
- Pointspot does not support adding credit to membership cards or creating membership cards that function as wallets.
Assigning tags during member-data import
- Create tags in Pointspot before assigning them automatically during member-data import.
- Automatic tag assignment through member-data import requires the member number, a Member Card, and the member's first and last names.
- Members who register through a registration form cannot be tagged automatically and must be tagged separately.
Verifying and recovering an account
- Enter the requested birth month, birth year, or full date of birth correctly when Pointspot requests verification. Users who have not logged in for a long time may be asked to enter their birth month and birth year again; the feature is triggered after a specified period, reported as approximately six months.
- Note that OTP verification is separate from birth-year verification.
- If the date of birth is entered incorrectly three times, Pointspot may suspend the account. Pointspot also locks the customer out after three incorrect answers to the birth month and birth year verification questions.
- An account-recovery or unlock request may require the customer's birth month and birth year. An unlock request must include the store name, the customer's phone number, the customer's full name, and the customer's correct date of birth.
- If the issue continues after the affected user updates the application, contact Pointspot support for further investigation.
Changing a registered phone number
- A customer can edit an incorrectly entered phone number themselves in Pointspot and may change their registered phone number themselves.
- Support staff can change a customer's registered phone number upon request. Customers can consult support staff about a phone-number change through LINE.
- The approach can differ when the customer has points with other businesses.
- LINE does not automatically recognize that a customer has changed phone numbers and may continue associating the account with the previous number.
Registering members
- A member must verify an OTP or register before the member's information is added to the Pointspot backend.
- The email field in the member registration form is optional.
Managing points and rewards
- The business can set the monetary conversion rate for points.
- The business can define how many points customers need to exchange for each reward.
- The business can set up and manage its rewards and reward values itself.
- Pointspot points can be configured to expire on December 31. In that configuration, all points expire on December 31 and balances reset to zero on January 1.
Managing gift vouchers
- Gift vouchers created in Pointspot can be sold through any sales channel chosen by the business.
- A gift voucher can be sent without the customer registering if the business has the customer's phone number.
- A gift voucher can be configured to expire after a specified number of days or on a specific expiration date.
- Usage conditions can require the customer to contact the business by phone or LINE to make a booking and provide the voucher code.
Managing transaction credits and coupon charges
- Pointspot credits not used during the month in which they are added carry forward to the following month. They can continue carrying forward across months, including across years, until the business cancels the service or uses all the credits.
- Credit top-ups can be processed using 30-day credit terms.
- Credits are deducted for coupon-related transactions when the business sends coupons, sends vouchers, or sets expiration notifications.
- Attached coupons, promotional coupons, and gift vouchers incur Pointspot transaction charges.
- Point-collection coupons, free-distribution coupons, and welcome coupons do not incur Pointspot transaction charges.
Checking transaction allowances and package limits
- The starting Pointspot service includes 5,000 transactions per month. The allowance is 5,000 transactions.
- Additional transaction credit can be added when the monthly transaction quota is reached and can be used starting with transaction 5,001.
- The basic annual package is the lowest-priced annual package and allows up to 5,000 monthly transactions involving point transfers, vouchers, e-coupons, or broadcasts.
- The six-month package is the smallest package available.
- Pointspot does not have a storage-space limit.
Managing plans and payments
- Pointspot is billed annually. Customers can pay once per year and continue using Pointspot.
- Renewal payment may be made before the service expiry date according to the applicable billing cycle.
