Overview

Registering and using a domain

  • A domain name is the name of a website. Website ownership and domain ownership are separate types of ownership information.
  • A domain can be registered without an active website.
  • The provider can manage the domain while the website is provided by another service provider.
  • A domain registered with the provider can be used with a website hosted by another provider.
  • A .com domain can be used worldwide. A .co.th domain indicates a company registered in Thailand, although its website can still be accessed worldwide.

Renewing a domain

  • Renewal notifications are sent by email to the address associated with the domain as its expiration date approaches.
  • Renewal staff contact customers as the renewal period approaches, and may contact them approximately one month before expiration with renewal information.
  • Reminder timing is reported as follows:
    • An email may be sent 60 days before expiration.
    • Domain-service reminders may be sent 60 and 30 days before expiration.
    • An expiry reminder may be sent one month before expiration.
  • Renewal services can also relate to domain names.

Connecting a domain to another website provider

  • An external website can be connected to a domain registered with the provider while retaining the existing domain name.
  • The external website provider may supply an IPC name for the connection. An IPC name and a name server are separate types of domain connection settings.
  • The provider can configure the domain when the customer submits an ITC record or a name server value for the website provider.
  • Customers can edit their domain settings themselves or send the settings to the provider for checking. Staff can also help check or apply IPC-related settings when the customer submits the details.
  • If the website provider changes its name servers or other destination settings, the corresponding domain settings must be updated to match.
  • The provider sends an email after a name server change is completed.
  • The provider sends the IP address and CNAME values needed for domain configuration by email.

Using a domain for email

  • Domain registration and domain-based email are separate services.
  • A domain name can be used to create an organization's official email.
  • A domain registered with the provider can be used for email with Google Workspace.

Verifying a domain

  • Domain verification for R-Message is intended to reduce the chance that marketing emails will be sent to spam.
  • Verifying a domain for R-Message does not affect use of a different mail server.
  • A website can remain offline when the domain owner's email address has not been verified. After domain verification, the website should return online after a short period.

Resetting a password and verifying Domain Management identity

  1. A one-time password is sent by email for Domain Management identity verification. The one-time password is a six-digit number.
  2. Password-reset instructions are sent to the email address associated with the account or registered for the domain.
  3. The system sends one confirmation email to verify the password change.

Transferring a domain and viewing its registration information

  • A domain transfer is processed through an automated system in which the two providers communicate with each other.
  • The current domain provider may provide additional transfer details to the customer.
  • The new domain provider notifies the customer whether the transfer has been completed.
  • A WHOIS result for an existing domain can display domain information, registry information, and registrant contact information.

How To

Managing a domain and resetting the management password

  1. Open a web browser and go to the website.
  2. Select the login menu and choose the RMP login option.
  3. Enter the domain name as the username and sign in. If the password is unknown, select the forgot-password option.
  4. Select the password-reset option and enter the domain name again when prompted.
  5. Open the password-reset or confirmation email sent to the registered email address and select its verification link. Select the link again if prompted to receive the new password.
  6. Wait for the email containing the new password or reset credentials. Use the password from the most recent reset email to return to the login page and sign in.
  7. If prompted, enter the one-time password received by email to complete identity verification.
  8. Select the domain management system to manage the domain.

If access still fails, download and install Firefox if necessary, then try signing in with Firefox. If the customer cannot access the system, send the required name server values to support so they can configure them for the hosting migration.

Verifying the domain owner's email address

  1. Check the email account associated with the domain for the latest verification message. Search the inbox using the domain or website name if needed.
  2. Open the email requesting immediate verification of the domain owner's email address.
  3. Select the link labeled “Click here to verify your email address” or the “here to verify” link.

If the message does not appear, refresh the inbox, check the spam or junk-mail folder, and search the inbox for the website domain.

Updating the domain contact email address

  1. Log in to the website.
  2. Select Settings in the black menu bar at the top.
  3. Select Domain Name from the left-hand menu.
  4. Scroll to the domain contact section.
  5. Change the contact email address to a current, usable address.
  6. Check the new or current email account for the domain verification message and complete the verification using the link in the message.

If the registered email address is no longer used but the customer can access the management backend, log in to the backend and change the registered email address there. Customers can also notify support of a preferred email address for renewal information so staff can coordinate an update.

Pointing an existing domain to an external website

  1. Ask the external website provider for the IP and CNAME values required to connect the website. A hosting provider may instead provide an IPC name.
  2. Send the domain name and the IP/CNAME values to support by email, requesting that the domain be configured for the website. Use a subject stating that the website's online value is being sent, followed by the domain name.
  3. Support configures the supplied values in the domain management system so the externally hosted website becomes available under the existing domain.

An existing domain can remain registered with its current registrar while being pointed to the website. When using external hosting, notify support to point the domain's DNS to the new hosting location. The domain information supplied for online setup must be forwarded to the domain provider so that provider can configure it in the domain management system.

Configuring IP and CNAME values through the domain provider

  1. Access the domain provider's domain management system when that provider manages the domain's DNS.
  2. Have the provider configure the IP address and CNAME values supplied by support.
  3. Ask the provider for a screenshot of the domain management page showing the configured values.
  4. Send the screenshot to support so the configuration can be checked.

The customer may instead send the provider's IPC name to support, which can configure the domain using that value.

Changing name servers

  1. Send a name server change request from the email address registered for the domain to the published support email address.
  2. Include the domain name and the new name server values. Copy and paste the DNS values to avoid transcription errors.
  3. Support changes the domain's name server values after receiving the request.
  4. Inform the external website provider that the name servers have changed.
  5. Wait for the name server values to update, then open the website to check whether it is online.

Configuring host information yourself

  1. Log in to the domain management system.
  2. Open the domain management menu and then Host Information.
  3. Add the new IPC-related value as a new host-information record.

Moving a domain between providers

  1. Notify support that the domain should be transferred from its current provider.
  2. When requesting the move, tell the current provider that the domain is used for email.
  3. Explain that changing the name servers may affect the email service.
  4. Ask the current provider whether it can send the required IP and CNAME values or provide another solution. The customer can also ask whether the provider can send the DNS records to support as an alternative approach.
  5. After the domain is unlocked, obtain the EPP code.
  6. Provide the EPP code to the company receiving the domain and identify it as the domain transfer-out authorization code.
  7. Open the domain-transfer verification email and select Click here to verify your email address.
  8. Reply to the staff email to confirm that verification is complete. The customer may sign the email.
  9. After the confirmation is received, staff continue processing the transfer.

Confirming a domain has been pointed to the service

After the domain has been pointed to the service, reply to the confirmation email to state that the change is complete. The relevant team then coordinates and continues the process.

Putting a self-built or externally completed website online

  1. Ask the website provider for the information needed to put the self-built website online under the domain name.
  2. Complete the website with the other provider or independently before connecting it to the domain.
  3. Arrange the fee for putting the completed website online according to the applicable request.
  4. Send the website's online configuration information to support by email.
  5. Support configures the information in the domain management system so the website is accessible under the domain name.

Redirecting a domain

  1. Submit a new redirect request to support.
  2. Specify the domains that should be redirected.
  3. Include the URL of the new destination website.

If the redirected domain cannot be reached, clear the browser cache and retry opening the secondary domain. If it still cannot be reached, try Microsoft Edge or a Chrome Incognito window. Restart the browser or the internet connection if the browser may be retaining an earlier connection state.

Configuring email DNS records

  1. Contact the mail-hosting provider.
  2. Obtain the email settings or DNS records from that provider.
  3. Send the settings or records to support so they can be configured in the domain management system.
  4. The information can be sent to the published support email address.

Configuring Google Workspace

  1. Obtain the required MX record and TXT record values from the email provider.
  2. Send the MX and TXT values to support.
  3. Support uses the supplied values to configure the domain's DNS settings in the domain management system.

Providing domain-verification information for assistance

  1. Send the TXT value obtained during domain verification to support.
  2. Include the email name and the domain name with the verification information.

Changing domain owner information

  1. Send supporting evidence from the email address belonging to the registered owner to the published support email address.
  2. State that the request is to change the domain owner information.

Requesting a domain registration confirmation document

  1. Send the request from the domain owner's email address to the published support email address.
  2. State the purpose for which the domain registration confirmation document will be used.
  3. If the domain owner's email address is not remembered, ask the person who manages the website for it.

Changing a domain name or website URL

  • To change a website URL while using an existing domain registered with the service, contact support and provide the relevant details. Support handles the requested domain-related change.
  • To request a Domain Name change, submit the request to customer service. Customer service forwards it to the sales team, which contacts the customer for further details.

Checking domain registration and expiration

  1. Search for the WHOIS lookup service.
  2. Enter the domain name, including its full extension, in the WHOIS search field.
  3. Select Search.
  4. Check the expire on date in the WHOIS information.

To have a domain checked by staff, spell the website name or domain name for accuracy. Staff can check whether the provided domain is registered with the service.

Registering or submitting a new domain

  • Customers with a new domain name can contact support to submit it for processing.

Renewing a domain

  1. Make the renewal payment according to the quotation.
  2. Send the transfer receipt to the published payment-support email address so staff can access the payment evidence.
  3. Staff reply by email after receiving the submitted payment information.

A staff member enters the payment into the system before the renewal is processed. Requests for additional renewal discounts are referred to the responsible staff for further discussion.

Enabling R-Message

  • Verify the domain before R-Message can be enabled.

Rules & Requirements

Registering and using a domain

  • A domain can be registered with any email address; a Gmail address is not required.
  • The domain must be registered before it can be used for a domain-based email address.
  • Customers can purchase domain registration without purchasing a website or subscribing to a Pro Package.
  • A customer can purchase the desired domain when the website is completed.
  • A domain registered through Readyplanet can remain with Readyplanet even when the website is hosted, built, or operated by another provider.
  • A customer may register a domain with Readyplanet or with another provider.
  • The domain registration fee must continue to be paid to the provider holding the registration.
  • Domain registration and website renewal are handled separately.
  • Readyplanet does not charge a processing fee or other fee for configuring the website online under the domain name.

Registering a .co.th domain

  • A .co.th domain generally must correspond to the registered company name. Abbreviations are allowed, but additional words are not.
  • A .co.th domain must be registered in a company's name, and the domain name must match the company name.
  • Registering a .co.th domain requires a company certificate. Supporting documents must be submitted, so customers are advised to register .co.th domains themselves.
  • A trademark may be required when the .co.th domain is based on a brand rather than the company name.
  • A .com domain does not have the same company-name or trademark matching requirement, provided that the domain is available.

Updating domain owner and contact information

  • If the domain owner changes, the domain ownership information must be updated.
  • Changing the domain owner information may require supporting evidence.
  • Readyplanet may verify that the requester is the actual owner of the website or domain before changing customer information.
  • The domain contact and administrator information should be entered in English.
  • Changing the domain contact email address to another address requires a document-submission process.
  • If the customer cannot access the management backend, documents must be submitted to Readyplanet to change the registered email address.
  • If the domain owner is aware of the requested change, the request may be submitted by email or the domain owner may be copied on the email.
  • Requests to configure domain settings must be sent from the email address registered as the domain owner so the information can be verified.
  • Requests to change a domain's NameServer must be sent by email from the domain owner's email address for verification and must include the relevant details. Existing name server values do not need to be included.
  • A request for a domain registration confirmation document must be sent using the domain owner's email address. This is the email address used when registering the domain.
  • Support staff cannot disclose the email address associated with the domain.
  • A customer may reply to the email on which they were copied.

Changing nameservers and DNS records

  • Customers cannot change a domain's name server themselves through the member website.
  • A nameserver change can take approximately 24–48 hours to update.
  • Changing a domain's name servers can affect the email service associated with the domain. After the change, the email service will not work unless the required DNS values are configured in the provider's system.
  • When using DNS with Readyplanet and an email service has been purchased, the customer can send the email-related DNS values to Readyplanet for configuration in the domain management system.
  • Readyplanet cannot set a website online until the required IP address and CNAME values are visible after the domain is pointed to Readyplanet.

Connecting an external website to an existing domain

  • An existing domain can continue to be used with Readyplanet if its DNS is configured to point to Readyplanet.
  • An externally created website can use the customer's existing domain name.
  • Online settings for connecting an external website use IP and CNAME values rather than a URL or an HTML link.
  • Readyplanet cannot determine the IP and CNAME values used by each external website provider. The IPC name must be obtained from the external website provider.
  • The record details to add depend on the format of the value provided by the external website provider.
  • Existing host-information records should not be edited when adding the new connection value.
  • After the domain's online settings are configured for the external website, the website hosted with Readyplanet will no longer be online.
  • Moving a website to another provider does not transfer the existing website content automatically; the information must be entered again.

Redirecting a domain

  • Having a domain link to another URL is handled as a redirect rather than as setting a new IP address or CNAME.

Transferring a domain to Readyplanet

  1. Unlock the domain in the current registrar's backend system. The existing provider must unlock the domain before the transfer.
  2. Provide the domain's EPP code for Readyplanet to process the transfer.
  3. Wait until the domain transfer is completed.
  • Receiving an EPP code does not complete a domain transfer.
  • Readyplanet cannot determine whether a domain transfer has been completed.
  • If an existing domain cannot be transferred or pointed to Readyplanet through DNS configuration, the customer generally needs to register a new domain name.

Transferring a domain out of Readyplanet

  1. Submit the transfer-out request by email.
  2. Include a company registration certificate and a signed copy of one director's identification card.
  • After a domain is transferred out of Readyplanet, the domain settings in Readyplanet's backend can no longer be used.
  • If the domain is not transferred out of Readyplanet, the associated email service can continue operating normally.

Renewing a domain

  • A domain name can be renewed for a maximum of two years at a time.
  • The domain service must be renewed before its settings can be configured.
  • Readyplanet sends a renewal notification email when the domain enters its renewal period.
  • The registration system automatically renews a domain during the period before its expiration.
  • Payment does not immediately renew a domain while its current registration has not yet expired.
  • Customers should notify the company in advance when renewing for a future year because document processing may cause delays.
  • A domain can still be renewed if it has been expired for less than 60 days. A domain expired for approximately four years may need to be registered again rather than renewed under the previous service.

Replacing or removing a domain from a website

  • A new domain must be registered before it can be used for a changed website name.
  • A new domain can be added when the current domain is no longer being used and the website is switching to a new domain. The new domain must be purchased before it can be added to the website.
  • Editing or deleting the domain entry in the website settings removes the domain name and may cause the website to become unavailable.
  • Closing a website does not immediately cancel its domain registration. The domain remains valid until the end of its already-paid registration period.
  • A customer can continue using an existing domain name when moving to a newly built AI Web Max website.

Accessing Domain Management

  1. Enter the domain name as the Domain Management username, rather than an email address.
  2. Enter the domain in its xn- form without the www. prefix. The domain used as the username does not need to include “www”.
  3. Complete identity verification before accessing the administration system.
  4. Enter the one-time password (OTP).
  • When a password is reset multiple times, reset emails may overlap. Use the password in the most recent reset email.
  • Only the domain owner can verify ownership and access membership information for a domain account.

Verifying domain ownership and status

  • A domain pending verification requires verification through the email address registered for it.
  • An email verification message may be sent randomly by an international organization or ICANN to check whether the domain owner's email address is still active.
  • The verification link can be opened from either a computer or a phone.
  • If the registrant contact information belongs to the customer and the domain status is active, the domain is still usable.
  • The domain check does not provide details about the purpose for which an existing owner registered the domain.
  • Readyplanet staff can verify only the website service used with Readyplanet and cannot verify domain-registration information.

Releasing and re-registering an expired domain

  • A new domain registration cannot use the same name while the existing domain remains registered.
  • The same domain name may be registered again after the current registrar releases it.
  • A popular expired domain may be registered by another party when it becomes available.
  • Failing to monitor an expired domain regularly increases the risk that another party will register it.

Checking a domain in WHOIS

  • The domain name entered for a WHOIS search should not include “www”.

Prices & Billing

Paying annual domain registration and renewal fees

  • Domain charges are paid annually.
  • A new or existing .com domain is reported as costing 600 baht per year; one statement specifies that this price excludes VAT.
  • The annual domain fee is also reported as 642 baht, including a one-year renewal.
  • A .co.th domain costs approximately 800 baht per year.
  • Renewing a domain for two years costs approximately 1,200 baht.
  • Automatic renewal extends the registration by one year from the latest expiration date.

Registering or changing a domain

  • Registering a new .com domain costs 600 baht.
  • Changing to a new domain incurs the cost of registering the new domain.
  • Creating a new subdomain for an online store may require payment.

Transferring or pointing an existing domain

  • Pointing an existing domain to the website does not incur a service fee.
  • Transferring a domain is reported in two ways: one statement says there is no separate transfer fee but that the customer must purchase a regular website package; another says moving a domain to the company incurs a separate service fee.

Contact & Timing

Transferring a domain

  • Transfer processing time varies by provider, but normally takes approximately 7–14 days, or about two weeks.
  • Notify the provider about the transfer approximately one month before the domain expires.

Domain expiry and availability

  • A domain availability check can show whether the domain currently has an owner.
  • Availability can be checked by the customer or by support staff on the customer's behalf.
  • After a domain expires, it may take approximately two to three months or longer before it becomes available for new registration.
  • The provider normally sends an email reminder before a service expires.

Activating a domain registration

  • A domain name registration can be activated within 24 hours after payment is received.

Updating domain settings and name servers

  • Domain-pointing values, including IP address and CNAME values, may take approximately 24–48 hours to update after the domain settings are configured.
  • Name server changes may become usable after approximately two to three hours, but the updated values may take approximately 24–48 hours to fully update.

Updating the website after verification

  • After verification, allow approximately 24–48 hours for the update before the website returns online.
  • Resending the domain verification email may require waiting until a business day.
